Tax Increment Financing (TIF)

Tax Increment Financing (TIF), also known as Community Development Law, is a financing mechanism whereby cities and villages can address substandard and blighted areas. This is done with revenue from bonds and then the bonds are paid back with property tax revenue collected on the increase in the value of the redevelopment project due to the improvements. There are several different types of TIF projects available. More TIF information and forms can be found on the following web page.
