LINCOLN – Today, newly confirmed Tax Commissioner Tony Fulton named former Acting Tax Commissioner, Len Sloup, as Deputy Tax Commissioner of the Nebraska Department of Revenue.

“Len Sloup is among the many capable and dedicated people at the Department, and I have quickly come to appreciate Len’s deep knowledge and expertise,” said Commissioner Fulton. “I am privileged to have someone of Len's caliber at my side to continue the important work of the Department.”

Len Sloup served as Acting Tax Commissioner as part of Governor Pete Ricketts’ cabinet for most of 2015. He was named the Director of Operations and Administrative Services for the Department in August of 2007. He was responsible for return and remittance (paper and electronic) processing, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Special Services. Sloup began his career with the Department in 1969 working part-time while a student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he graduated from the College of Business Administration. During his 47-year career with the Department, he has held a variety of positions throughout the agency.

“It is an honor to serve Nebraska businesses, taxpayers, and citizens as their Deputy Tax Commissioner. I look forward to working closely with Commissioner Fulton in mutual service to Nebraska,” said Sloup.
